Kinoko is still with my family, and so tonight the apartment is quite empty. It's a chance to get work done before she returns, but there isn't that much work left to do. I will drop in at the office tomorrow before I see my family and retrieve Kinoko--filing the reports tomorrow will leave me with more time on Monday for other matters.

Hiking and Travel

Atobe-kun has a vulnerable side. Perhaps I'm being overly suspicious, but why am I seeing it so early into our new acquaintance? What am I reading into the things he does and says that shouldn't be read? These business trips may be for the best at this time.

Hiking with Yamato-kun was enjoyable. The weather was colder than it ought to be at this time of year. It was a good change from Kinoko's company, good though that is. Yamato-kun has interesting things to say, often.

Of the three modes of travel businessmen use, my preferred mode is the Shinkansen. At least one can get work done on the train, spacious as it is. Unfortunately, the Sapporo-Kumamoto trip would take too long on the train, but most of the shorter trips (Osaka-Nagoya, Sendai-Tokyo-Kyoto, Osaka-Okayama-Hiroshima-Fukuoka) are more convenient by rail.

In any case, I will be very busy these three weeks <s>talking to people who have already made up their minds to oppose each other</s>. Those who wish to reach me either have my personal contact information or may leave a message with X-Corporation. If only one could change minds as easily as one could polarize metal ... but that would not be true progress.

Mother is coming to collect Kinoko soon. The apartment will feel very empty without her, but for such a long period of absence, I cannot leave her alone here, and she distracts from getting work done before leaving.

[ooc: strikes deleted, small private.]

It was interesting meeting Yukimura-kun; working with him should prove interesting too. Yamato-kun, the suggestion of a chew-toy was somewhat useful, but the bowl's position did not help. Thank you for the suggestion anyway. I trust you are having a good Golden Week?

It's a pity dogs are not allowed on trains. Luckily, Father drove Grandfather and Mother to Tokyo. Grandfather has aged, but he is still the same man. Father does not approve of my working during Golden Week, but his argument does not hold much weight if he works it himself.

Working late during the season

I have been working later than usual due to the upcoming Golden Week holidays. I don't begrudge my married colleagues time with their families, but Kinoko certainly does not approve of having her dinner later. Unfortunately, I cannot leave two portions out in the morning as she will eat it all and want a third. Perhaps somewhere, someone will have advice on how to proceed.
